Americans have become lazier and more docile in recent years as their government and masters have brutally whipped them into submission incrementally. Now it has become one of Michelle Obama’s priorities to promote “Walking School Buses”, whatever those are.
I mean after all, children have been both walking to school and taking buses since there was a school to go to or a bus to take. Why now do we need to have the First Lady telling us that our children need to walk in groups to school? How will this affect their safety? There are many unanswered questions, amongst the obvious one: Why?
The official website WalkingSchoolBus details how, “Studies show that fewer children are walking and biking to school, and more children are at risk of becoming overweight. Changing behaviors of children and parents require creative solutions that are safe and fun.
Implementing a walking school bus can be both… A walking school bus is a group of children walking to school with one or more adults. If that sounds simple, it is, and that’s part of the beauty of the walking school bus. It can be as informal as two families taking turns walking their children to school to as structured as a route with meeting points, a timetable and a regularly rotated schedule of trained volunteers.
A variation on the walking school bus is the bicycle train, in which adults supervise children riding their bikes to school. The flexibility of the walking school bus makes it appealing to communities of all sizes with varying needs.”
Do we really need groups of kids and adults to motivate kids to walk? Why now?
This now coming from a government organization and the same woman that told our kids what they can and can’t eat at school. The woman is a hypocrite to say the least.
An excerpt from HillBuzz.org, explains how the woman has two sides to her after touching on what other first ladies have done, “The role of America’s first lady has always been one American women have admired. Jackie Kennedy inspired an entire generation of women to invest in pill box hats, study French and dream of love. Martha Washington probably inspired women of her day to volunteer their services to the army after her presence at the battle of Valley Forge was said to have rallied troop spirits. Laura Bush, with her quiet librarian-like dignity and sweet children’s books inspired moms to read more stories to their little ones.
Michelle Obama, on the other hand, inspires moms to angrily throw out magazines with her picture on it, specifically ones where she preaches that they should feed their children baked sweet potato fries, veggie subs, spaghetti peppered with carrots and broccoli and fresh squeezed carrot-lemonade. Yeah, okay. Is that before or after she scurries off for lobster dipped in butter or short ribs or the multitude of fast food joints where she’s been photographed stuffing her face?”
In some ways I have to wonder exactly what is the purpose of such a program. Is it truly designed to help kids get in shape, or is it merely a cover for something more sinister?
Is this a way of telling our kids they don’t deserve rides to school anymore? Is it a way to make them live in fear? Kids have walked alone or with friends to school since the beginning of education, what is different now?
